Travel to school

Planning your school travel is easy. There are a range of safe transport options to get to our school. Check our location map and transport options to help make the journey to school safe and easy.

As a parent or carer, it’s your responsibility to get your child to and from school safely. Student safety is our priority.

Arrival and pick up are very busy times at Wairoa School, we please ask that you drive in through the school gates and wait in your vehicle until a staff member either comes to take your child out of the car or brings your child to you at pick up.

Keep our school community safe by:

• driving and parking safely
• being a good role model
• never calling your child from across the road
• using the safest place to cross the road.

Assisted School Travel Program

Your child may be eligible for Assisted School Travel. This will be discussed as part of the enrolment process. Or applications can be made through the school for currently enrolled students.

Making Changes

Any change of requirements to transport requires a form to be submitted to Assisted School Travel for assessment. To apply for a change to transport, contact the school via email wairoa-s.school@det.nsw.edu.au

Changes include:

• Change of residential address
• Increase/decrease of transport
• Additional equipment e.g. walker, wheelchair
• Special purpose car seat or harness
