This year we have an initiative to raise $30,000 for the replacement of 5 interactive whiteboards. The current boards are more than 10 years old and are starting to breakdown and become damaged and are not cost efficient to repair. We have sourced 5 new boards (at a discount) but we still need to raise the funds to pay for them.
To that end, one of our parents, Mark Baldassarre, is competing in the Bondi to Watsons Bay, or as he calls it, WAIROA TO WATSONS 10km swim on Sunday May 19, in an effort to raise funds for the interactive whiteboards.
We are so amazed at his training and effort to support the school where his youngest child attends. His other children attend Scots and St Catherine's. He has been training 4 times a week for last 3 months and is committed to helping the school and raising as much as possible, all the while working at his 'real' job!
With support from the local community, it can make an enormous difference to the opportunities the children can experience. The interactive whiteboards are key for the children to access and participate in learning. These children are confident, creative and connected learners and interactive whiteboards ensure that learning continues.
Please help us support Mark as he swims his heart out to raise much needed funds for the students of Wairoa School.
We welcome any financial support for Mark in his selfless endeavour.
